This is the stripped down, rough draft of version 2.0 of Topic Classification Add On. The final version will have more detailed description of features and usage.

Topic Classification Add-On

Topic Classification Add On (aka TCAO) helps you content in your wiki. by classifying topics according to their function and/or subject matter. It also provides a user-friendly interface for creating new topics that automatically incorporates this classification system. Together, these basic elements provide a platform that allow you to create any number of simple T Wiki Applications^?.

Dependencies

Topic Classification Add On makes use of TWiki:Plugins.TopicCreatePlugin and TWiki:Plugins.TreePlugin.

Add-On Installation Instructions

Note: You do not need to install anything on the browser to use this add-on. The following instructions are for the administrator who installs the add-on on the server where TWiki is running.

• Download the ZIP file from the Add-on Home (see below)
• Unpack the Add-on archive in the root of your TWiki installation.
• Add the following preference section to Main.TWikiPreferences:

   * TEMPLWEB variable for identifying which web holds topic templates
      * Set TCAOWEB = TCAO
   * Set sidebar style:

Enabling Topic Classification Add On in a particular web

Topic Classification Add On is designed to organize content within individual webs. There are two options for enabling Topic Classification Add On in a particular web:

• • Create a new Web using the _defaultTCAO template web.
  • Use the TCAO installer form below to add the core Topic Classification Add On components to an existing web.

Replace "Web" in the following textbox with the name of web where you want to install TopicClassificationAddOn (but leave ".TopicClassification") :

Click: You will be sent immediately to the TopicClassification topic in the choosen web and presented further instructions for setting up TCAO within the web.

Setting up Topic Classification within a web

Once Topic Classification Add On is enabled within a web, you're ready to start defining TopicTypes and SubjectAreas to be used in that web. To do this go to the TopicClassificationSetUp within the web and use follow the "wizard" instructions.
