Herbal tea like the name suggests itself is not confined to any particular herb but in fact this can be made from any herb which is consumable. Obviously all the different herbs used to make tea will vary in their qualities, tastes and nutritional value. Among common forms of herbal teas the popular ones are , ginseng, cinnamon, catnip, dil, fennel, ginger root hibiscus, honey bush, kava, lemon grass, mint, rosemary and tulsi just to name a few among hundreds. Making tea with all the different herbs will have a different flavor and different properties which will always be beneficial for a good health. It can be made from roots, fresh or dried flowers, leaves and even seeds just by pouring boiling water over them. They can be cooked together also and sweetener added if desired. There are many concoctions how to make herbal tea and they primarily depend on personal preference.

Consumer of herbal tea believes it to be essential for medicinal and physical effects. It is supposed to be a relaxant, sedative and stimulant. Herbal tea is also an excellent anti-oxidant.

Among herbal teas available in the market, green tea is the most popular one. There are many companies in the world who have realized the huge market for herbal teas and some of them have also realized that making herbal tea might not be the easiest for a lot of people especially the ones who are working. Thus these companies have come up with herbal tea bags also to facilitate this market.

The ever increasing popularity of herbal tea can be easily judged today just by looking at the fact that almost all good restaurants and coffee joints have added this to their menus. This was not true maybe 20 years back but now you see them everywhere and also in almost all the super markets.

A lot of heavy coffee drinkers have also starting switching to herbal tea because it is a known fact that having too much coffee can harm you but till now there is no evidence if having too much herbal tea will have any negative effect on you.
