We won the Hertfordshire Village of the Year 2002 - Western Region and Overall Winner. Redbourn had the honour of representing the county in the Calor Village of the year of England and Wales. We were competing against villages from Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire in the regional round, trying to reach the short list of six villages and a chance of the £6,000 first prize.
We are very pleased to have won this award as it is a recognition of all the hours of voluntary work that many people willingly give to Redbourn to make it such a wonderful place in which to live. Congratulations one and all!
The Judges were in Redbourn for the next stage of the Competition on 16 October 2002.
