Guiding in Redbourn - Rainbows, Brownies and Guides
Redbourn currently has a Rainbow Unit for girls aged 5 to 7 and two Brownie Units for girls aged 7 to 10 which meet during the school term on a weekday evening. We would also like to set up a Guide Unit in the Village and are looking for Guider volunteers to run this.
Rainbow and Brownie meetings often consist of games, craft, team-building activities and theme evenings. In Brownies we work towards interest badges as a unit, but the girls are also encouraged to complete some of their own choice at home. Along side our weekly meeting's in the Redbourn Guiding room we often have outside visit's, trips, campfire's and sleepover's.
We participate in events along with the Scouting movement in the Village and Harpenden, including parade's, service's, fun day's and event's. We also participate in Guiding events and activities in the District and county.
During the year we try to include the village and community in our meetings. All three units are always on the look out for other people with skills that we can use in the units.
Does this sound good to you or your daughter? Make sure she is on the waiting list!!. Places are limited due to the size of the Guiding room and we always seem to have a long waiting list.

Mini-Gang Show! We worked jointly with the other Brownies, Guides and Rainbows in Redbourn, Markyate and Flamstead on a Mini-Gang Show for the Parents of our girls. The girls worked hard to learn the songs and dances and earned their Dancer and Entertainer Badges. It was a long and busy day, but the show went really well. All the girls involved made a huge effort and really enjoyed themselves. (Photos from S pledger)
