1st Redbourn Brownies


1st Redbourn Brownies is now a thriving unit of 18 girls aged from 7 to 10 years old.

We have two leaders Snowy and Barn Owl and are fortunate to also have a new Leader in training.

What 1st Redbourn Brownies do!


During the year, apart from our fun weekly meetings and all the badge's we achieve, we also join in lot's of regular outside activities such as

Pantomime trip

District Thinking day -

In 2012 at our District Thinking Day event we celebrated the Queen's Golden Jubilee, in 2013 we put on a performance of "Eddie Saves the World" and our own version of "Gangnam Style" at Redbourn Village Hall in 2014 we joined in a Treasure trail event around Flamstead and in 2015 we had a "world craft" event in Markyate Village Hall.

Run fundraising stall's at the Scout Fete and Redbourn Christmas Market

Sleep overs-

in 2012 we had an "Olympic" theme sleepover, in 2013 a "Pop stars" theme, in 2014 a District "Big Brownie Birthday Stay Away Pajama Party" and 2015??

Christingle and Mothering Sunday Church services at St Marys Church

Redbourn Remembrance Sunday Parade and Act of Remembrance

We enter the Flamstead Christmas Tree Festival and help with the District Scarecrow entry at the Flamstead Scarecrow Festival

In addition to these regular annual activities we are always trying new and fun things with the Brownies so,

in 2014

we celebrated "The Big Brownie 100th Birthday" with all sorts of exciting event's! from Jan to Sep

In 2013

we held a special party and celebrated our 85th Anniversary in Flapper Style!

created a display of our Units history at the Redbourn Village Museum

had a brilliant "Brownie Fun Weekend" in Norfolk

Completed our Fire Safety badge with an interesting and informative visit to the Redbourn Fire Station

achieved our Brownie Traditions badge at special 1 day session with other Brownie Units in the County

In 2012

we were part of the relay (along the Common) that carried "Redbourn's Olympic torch" around the village

had a fun day out at Whipsnade Zoo as part of our Friends to animal badge

enjoyed a sports session at Redbourn Tennis Club as part of our Olympic badge

The 1st Redbourn Brownies worked very hard to achieve the special badge to celebrate the London 2012 Olympics.

in late 2011

we performed a Dance routine at the district "Girl Guiding's got talent" show at Harpenden Hall's
