Winter Triples League

The winter triples league was eventually won by the Mansdale Pipers, The Codgers were second and the Late Night Drinkers were third. My congratulations to the winners and my thanks to everyone who took part.

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting will be held at the Recreation Centre on Wednesday October 27, 2010, commencing at 7.30 p.m.

2009 Season Ends with Entertaining

Finals Weekend

The final matches in the Singles and Pairs competitions took place on Sunday September 27. The bowling was of the highest standard and it was pleasing to see that new names will be appearing on some of our trophies. Following is a list of all the 2009 trophy winners and runners up. Mens Singles (Chairmans trophy) Winner Bob Hillier, runner up James Cash; Ladies Singles Winner Gill Howe, runner up Daphne Cowley; Mens pairs Winners John Lawrence and Ray Whyman, runners up Bob Hiller and Chris Osborne; Ladies pairs Winners Brenda Whyman and June Young, runners up Gill Howe and Joan Vardy; Mixed pairs (Denise Grundy Memorial Trophy) Winners Janet and Eric Darby, runners up Joan Vardy and Martin Howe; Veterans Trophy This year a Spoon Drive, Winner Daphne Cowley; Ladies Australian Pairs Winners Joan Vardy and Nancy Bradley; Mens Australian Pairs Winners Keith Cowley and Peter Tomblin; Mixed Australian Pairs Winners Barbara and Peter Tomblin; Mens Triples Winners Brian Catling, Martin Howe and Martin Smith; Ladies Triples Winners Julia Cain, Brenda Whyman and Daphne Cowley.

Our thanks go to Jackie and Chris Osborne for hosting an enjoyable barbecue at their home after the finals had finished.

Club Shirts

As many of you will know, the new club shirts are now on order. All club members will be offered one shirt to wear when playing in all club matches and competitions. Should you wish to purchase your shirt, details will be made available to you, but if not the shirt remains the property of the club and is to be returned if you decide not to renew your membership.

Without Bias

One month to go before we have to enrol for the new season. Enrolment day is Saturday April 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or earlier. KC
