Celebrations
Redbourn Bowls Club recently celebrated the end of their second season.
Dinner for approximately fifty members and friends followed by the presentation of trophies and individual prizes took place at the Hertfordshire Moat House Hotel on Friday January 11, 2008.
The Club Chairman, Ray Timberlake, welcomed everyone to the second of which he hoped would become an annual event. He particularly welcomed the clubs guest of honour Inger Cooper, Secretary of the Redbourn Recreation Centre Management Company Limited.
After a very enjoyable dinner, the Chairman thanked various members of the club committee for their efforts, with particular thanks to Gill Howe and the organisers of the evenings festivities, he then invited Inger Cooper to present the awards. Before doing so, Inger thanked the club for their kind invitation and went on to say that the clubs efforts continued to make a considerable contribution to the success of the new bowling green.
Just prior to the presentations the Match and Fixture Secretary Keith Cowley thanked the members for supporting the various competitions and he congratulated the winners and runners-up. He coupled this with thanks to the Centre Management, the Centre Manager and her staff for all their valuable help and assistance throughout last season.
