Winter Triples Winners 2010/2011

The competition reached a thrilling climax with three teams in a position to win on the final day of matches. In the end, Ted’s Team (Ted Danton, James Cash, Eric Darby) and H2 O? (Jackie and Chris Osborne, Martin Howe) finished equal on points with Ted’s Team declared the winners having lost fewer ends during the whole competition. Congratulations to them and thanks to Keith Cowley for organising it all.

Our finals weekend once again took place in fine weather and once again the bowling was of the highest standard and it was pleasing to see that new names will be appearing on some of our trophies. Once again our thanks go to Jackie and Chris Osborne for the barbeque (more like a banquet) that followed later in the day. Following is a list of all the 2011 trophy winners and runners up. This years Presentation Evening saw us once again at Redbourn Golf Club for an evening of fine food,good company and reward to those who had risen to the challenge to become this years club champions. We congratulate them all. Our Guest Speaker was John Allen from Harperbury Bowls Club accompanied by his wife Sue. They kindly agreed also to present the trophies.

Club Championships 2011

The committee have made the following decisions regarding the 2011 Club Championships. All competitons will be run on a league basis, and winners of the respective leagues ONLY will go forward to the finals day. There will be no semi-finals day. Matches will be 13 (thirteen) ends and the matches will be decided on highest number of shots wins the match. The winner of each match will get 3 (three points) and 1 (one) point for a draw. in the event of two or more players in a league table having equal points, then shots won will decide the winner of the league. If the jack is burnt, then EBA rules apply, the end is replayed. All competiton rules will be available on fixture cards when they become available. Without Bias
