2006 visit
Anglia In Bloom Judges, Parish Clerk, Cllr Bull, Redbourn In Bloom Volunteers after the judges toured Redbourn on 27 July 2006
Anglia in Bloom Competition: We have once again entered the regional competition, Anglia in Bloom. The judges, who visited the village on 27 July 2006 (see above), like to see evidence of all-year-round effort, with as many people involved as possible. Playgroups, schools and village organisations are invited to help by organising their own planting or environmental projects. We would also welcome anyone interested in helping to join our committee or our group of volunteers, who help out at times of peak effort with planting or tidying up. Previous years’ efforts can be seen in portfolios at the
Redbourn Museum.
Redbourn was given a Silver Award at the Anglia in Bloom 2005 award ceremony held in Norwich on Thursday, 22nd September 2005 and was nominated for the Planting Scheme at the Industrial Site. The judges were particularly impressed by
- the entrance planters
- the refurbished beds by the fire station
- several front garden displays
- the hanging basket demonstration day
- the number of competitions for floral display
This year (2006) The Chairman of the Parish Council, Parish Clerk, and Pam Cannon attended the Anglia in Bloom
awards at Thurrock. Redbourn were awarded a
SILVER in the Small Town category, and 2Js Nursery were nominated in the Under-12s project category for their Recycled Garden.
