Walk the Railroad from Harpenden to Hemel Hempstead, 11am, Saturday 2 August

The walk will start at the Holly Bush Lane steps in Harpenden when the 320 Centrebus bus, leaving Bridge Street in Hemel Hempstead at 10.20am, arrives at the top of Sun Lane in Harpenden around 11am. We will walk the length of the Line (7 miles) from Harpenden to Hemel Hempstead, from where those wishing to return to Harpenden will catch the bus. Shorter stretches can be walked, as the bus route crosses the Line at intermediate points, allowing flexibility. All welcome. Bring a picnic lunch. Contact Roger on 01582 763560 for further details

Friends of the Nickey Line Chairman, Dave Abernethy, said "The Nickey Line is a great amenity to all local communities along the line - but regular users also come from further afield too, including Luton and St Albans, for example.

Local residents and all interested users can now join together through becoming a Friend of the Nickey Line - and have their say on all aspects affecting the Nickey Line.
