Dr Lindsay Miller was the village doctor from 1953 until his retirement when he had completed nearly 50 years service to the community.

He died in 2002 and as an appreciation of the tremendous work he did in the village the community donated money towards the purchase of a seat in his memory. The seat has been placed on North Common . On Saturday 24th May, a short ceremony was held on North Common officiated by Reverend Duncan Swan attended by Hilda Miller, her family, and members of the community.
