Dolittle Mill pond 1920

The restored 17th century house was the miller’s dwelling having an adjacent barn. The mill was variously known as Bettespool, Redbourn or Do-Little Mill. The Mill had existed in one form or another since Saxon times and stood on the other side of the road. In the 1950s it was demolished to make way for road widening. The mill pond was in the field in front of the house and barn and an old sluice gate can be seen by the roadside.
