Alternative Medicines

We stock a comprehensive range of homoeopathic remedies and aromatherapy products, together with books and free leaflets advising on their use.

Aids for the Handicapped

We can supply products to aid handicap living. Wheelchairs and commodes can be hired. Popular aids for the kitchen, for eating and for bathrooms can also be purchased. Please enquire regarding your specific requirements.

Dispensing Prescription Medicines:

We dispense both NHS and Private prescriptions. The medicine containers will be labelled with your name, how to take your drugs and will advise on necessary precautions, for example, avoidance of alcohol etc.

Unless we are asked not to, tablets and capsules are dispensed in child resistant containers. We can also cater for the elderly and confused by offering special containers with daily/weekly doses clearly marked.

To keep safety in mind we will keep records of the medicines we dispense for you, therefore when you bring subsequent prescriptions to us we will ensure that you can take new medicines safely along with others you are currently taking.

Housebound Patients - If you are housebound and unable to visit us to get your prescription dispensed we can arrange for your medicines to be delivered to you at home. To find out more about this service please ask for further details. ( Redbourn Care Group can also help with collection and delivery of prescriptions.)

Urgent Prescriptions - We are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for prescriptions that have been marked Urgent by your doctor. For security reasons contact has to be made through the police. Simply phone the police and ask them to contact us on your behalf

Prescription Collection and Delivery Service:

To save you time and inconvenience we can collect your prescription from your doctor’s surgery and dispense it ready to collect.

Repeat prescription requests can be left with us to be sent to your doctor and the prescription collected by us. The medicine is normally available within 3 working weekdays. (eg repeat requests left on a Friday can be collected the following Wednesday under normal circumstances.)

Equipment for surgeries

A comprehensive range of medical equipment for surgery or clinical use is obtainable to order, with delivery normally within a few days.

We are able to supply the correct First Aid Kits that are required by Law for industrial and business use. We can also advise on, and make up, custom designed kits to suit your own requirements.

We can also supply First Aid Kits and other medical supplies for offices, factories, sports clubs and the home.

We also supply electronic blood testing pressure testing equipment for home use and also a blood glucose testing instruments for diabetics.

Health and Nutrition

We stock a complete range of vitamins and minerals. We will be pleased to use our professional skill and experience to advise you on the selection of the most suitable product for your needs. We will also advise on general dietary matters for babies, children and adults.

We are able to supply a range of items designed to help. Please ask so we may talk in confidence and offer advice on anything you may need, for example, pads, covers for mattresses, pants etc.

These are not available on NHS prescription but your doctor may let you buy one from us to help treat breathing difficulties and asthma.

Nursing and Residential Homes

We are able to deliver to and provide a service to residential homes within the locality. We can offer special packs with weekly /daily doses marked and offer advice on how to store and dispose of medicines. Please ask for more information.

Passport size Photographs

These are useful for passports, driving licences, student identity cards and other puposes. They are produced while you wait.

A 48 hour print service is available (Monday to Friday) (Please note that films left on a Friday pm and Saturday may not be returned to us till the following Wednesday)

There are a range of Leaflets available from our displays which can also advise you on how to keep healthy. We also provide information on specific disease areas

Fertility Tests

We can also offer kits and thermometers to help a woman identify when she is at her most fertile. Please ask for information on how to use the kits.

Pregnancy Tests

We have available testing kits for you to purchase to use at home. Alternatively you may wish to bring us a small sample of your early morning urine and we can usually test this while you wait.

Prescribed Oxygen Therapy

We can deliver prescribed oxygen to your home and are able to loan oxygen equipment as prescribed. Ask us about portable lightweight oxygen sets which can be carried with you when you want to be mobile. Portable oxygen sets can be prescribed on NHS or they can be purchased.

Stop Smoking Support

In addition to offering help and advice on stopping smoking our pharmacist can advise on a range of products which may also help; these include nicotine patches and gum.

Unwanted Medicine

It is very dangerous to hoard unused medicines or to flush them away. If you return them to us we will dispose of them properly for you.
